Ad Extension Series – Price Extensions

In this Ad Extension Series, we have gone over several AdWords features that can help boost the performance of your internet ads. One thing we almost never discuss is how these kinds of features relate to Bing Ads. Bing has most of the same extension options as Google, which operate in the same way. Although they are not guaranteed to show each time your ad does, they will expand the size of your ad and help provide additional information about your company or service to searchers when they do.

Recently, Bing Ads has also added Price Extensions as an option for advertisers using their services. These kinds of extensions have been available in AdWords for a while and are praised for the level of additional information they allow you to display in your ads. Price extensions allow you to show the price of a product/service directly in the ad. They operate similar to a Structured Snippet Extension in that they will appear at the bottom of your ad, below the main ad text, and list out the select values you input. These extensions are only eligible to show when the ad’s position is at the top of the page for that particular search. There are also limitations on the number of products or services you can highlight in each Price Extension. You need to list at least 3 and no more than 8 products/services per extension. Price extensions also require you to fill out several descriptive fields for each product or service. For example, you will need to fill out fields like language, currency, description, header, etc. for each specific service or product you want featured in your extension. You are able to add up to 20 price extensions that can display when eligible. When clicked, they cost the same as a click on your main ad or one of your other extensions. Price extensions are also particularly useful for searchers because, when an item in your price extension is clicked, they act like a Sitelink Extension and lead directly to the page on your website featuring that product or service. This means that these extensions can increase the possibility of conversion and expedite the conversion process.

Price Extensions can be an extremely valuable feature for an advertising campaign on Bing or Google.
